END OF DURATION OF STATUS RULE - ANNOUNCEMENT
On July 17, 2026, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) published a final rule to replace duration of status (D/S) admissions with admissions for a fixed end date for F and J visa holders. The new rule and policies will go into effect 60 days from the published date, on September 15, 2026.

International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) is working with campus partners to develop guidance for the Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) community. As guidance is developed, it will be posted here on the ISSS website.
